ESSENTIAL APPS FOR TRAVELLING IN CHINA

China is a tech-savvy country, and having the right apps will make your trip smooth, convenient, and unforgettable! Since many non Chinese apps (Google, WhatsApp, Facebook, etc.) are restricted, these essential apps will be your lifeline during your journey.

WeChat (微信) – The ultimate super app for messaging, mobile payments, translations, and even booking services. A must-have!

Alipay (支付宝) – Widely used for cashless payments, transportation, and even booking attractions. It also has a feature for foreign cards

VPN – Since many Non Chinese sites are blocked, a good VPN will allow you to access Google, Instagram, YouTube, and WhatsApp.

DiDi (滴滴出行) – China’s version of Uber, perfect for booking taxis and private cars (supports English in some cities).

Baidu Maps (百度地图) – Google Maps doesn’t work well in China, so Baidu Maps is the best alternative for navigation, public transport, and walking routes.

Baidu Translate – Helps with real-time text, voice, and image translations, especially for restaurant menus and signs!

Ctrip / Qunar – Another option for booking hotels & flights.
